The theme of Gangwon Triennale 2021 is 'Warm Revitalization'. If there is any part of your participated artwork that fits these themes, please explain in detail focusing on your artwork.
-
I took the theme as an awareness. An awareness of what the entire planet has experienced. The realization that human beings regain self-confidence and come to fruition more and more. For my part, I think that all this has enabled us to get closer to the “real”, to reconnect with ourselves and with nature. My work tries to talk about this new energy that has been awakened, that revives us.

Today, when non-face-to-face has become common due to COVID-19, the reality is that exhibition activities are greatly reduced. What kind of artistic activities have you been engaged in under these circumstances?
-
It is true that the Covid 19 has stopped everything and is creating a strong psychosis inside many people. But here in Cameroon, we have been able to surpass a number of things. As a result, we already know more or less how to resolve the Covid 19 problem as quickly as possible. The exhibition halls are open. Me in particular, I continue to work on the chosen ones and try to exhibit it as much as I can despite the difficulties.

We have entered the post-pandemic era. What role do you think art should play for people in these times? Please describe what you felt in your specific experience.
-
Art should have an avant-garde posture insofar as it could prevent, raise awareness, about the future. Artists are able to time travel in order to do this. Things have happened ... it's time to set the record straight and let people know that we should be made new in order to heal the world.

If you have ever wanted to quit art, please tell us when and why. And now why do you continue your artistic activity?
-
I have wanted to do this several times because I live in an environment that is not at all conducive to emancipation and the promotion of art. almost no platform for artistic expression. But the urge to speak up is stronger and keeps me hopeful. There is so much to do in my environment that I am not discouraged. I must and I am compelled to speak out.

If there is any difference between Gangwon Triennale 2021 from other international exhibitions you have participated in, please give your honest opinion.
-
So far, I have found the Gangwon Triennale 2021 interesting for the organization. I would have thought that this triennial was going to be an opportunity for foreign artists to rub shoulders with other artists in order to have a real exchange around the different artistic approaches and visions. I understand that covid 19 is a brake but I think that arrangements could have been made. This would have added something to this biennial.

Gangwon Triennale 2021 is a nomadic project that moves to each region in Gangwon-do, Korea every three years. What is your particular opinion on this process?
-
This not only opens the Triennale to more than one but also allows it to have more impact on the population. It also allows artists to see Korea a bit more broadly.

-
What is your future special project plan after participating in this Triennale?
-
At the moment, I am working on a project which is based on looking "out". The exterior for me who travels towards the other, the acceptance of the other. If I had the opportunity to become in Korea during this triennial, it was going to be an opportunity to lay the groundwork for this project. The world today is one. We realize that we are all the same with a few differences ready; Culture. Discovering others is my priority at the moment.
