Today, when non-face-to-face has become common due to COVID-19, the reality is that exhibition activities are greatly reduced. What kind of artistic activities have you been engaged in under these circumstances?

Untact is very difficult situation for artists who make tangible objects or immersive environments, the sense of scale and touch are lost and remain a fading reality left only to the imagination. Narrative film can fair better and can adapt to this loss of place better than art objects. We need to be careful not to lose contact, or even our imaginations might forget what that is like, even for narrative film.

We have entered the post-pandemic era. What role do you think art should play for people in these times? Please describe what you felt in your specific experience.

In my years of making art, I have come up with many “art is” statements for myself; I value artistic intention, this is something artists need to protect and defend. Artists like Van Gogh are being exploited and re-presented in warehouse spaces as giant animations. NFTs take away the object and artistic intention of a work of art, especially when the concept of the art has nothing to do with its block chain context. Art is a practice of decision making. These decisions however micro build towards an artistic intention. Artists develop intuition, fast thinking or an ability to know through making art, because they make millions of decisions. This ability to understand knowing is important for humanity. Artists can help humanity understand knowing and the creative process.
