Artist's note
Timetraveler is a work that appeared in Amusement Park in Box in 2014, which was a concept of a prefabricated amusement park that puts a huge structure in a box. The artist recreated the work as an imaginary time machine that ro-tates counterclockwise. The 7-piece Timetraveler starts working in the morn-ing, and boxes are summoned one by one from the bear-shaped belly. Each of these boxes features a ‘Moonwalker’ in the form of a guard, a racehorse and a lunar lander. ‘The Box’, a small world of their own, expands into the real world and invites visitors to an imaginary amusement park.
Introduction
At Wadong branch school, a moving teddy bear welcomes children. This stainless steel work running on an electric motor rotates counterclockwise. It's like a time machine traveling into the past. Children travel to the past, stretching their imaginations. The spinning head makes you dizzy, but the children are all excited about the work, the fun ride.
