Coloring to the Object

Artist's note

“Maybe then, something there was. the original colors of being given to me....”

In an era of chaos where only achromatic colors existed, the awakening takes place by breaking the framework of chaos. The universe begins to respond to a series of movements that wake us up, and we borrow colors from the natural world that used to wear colors. The crowd gets dressed. Coloring each other, life is opening as a festival yard. The square frame filling the wall symbolizes the universe and is connected with each other in various colors. Achromatic human figures borrow colors and personalities from them, and experience a journey to find themselves gradually. Such awakening beings make an attempt to connect with others and re-create a beautiful world.

Introduction

Coloring white walls reminds us of the art practice that took place in a prehistoric cave. Just as drawing murals at that time was part of play, ritual, labor, and life, the artist also talks about the life of a community through the mural that features something very much like a festival. A group of achromatic human figures, clothed in various colors, are connected to each other. As my cloth is connected to someone and his cloth is connected to someone else, an individual’s life is transformed into the life of a community. This is the determination to bring about revitalization with the hope for an in-person encounter in this time of virtuality with the pandemic.
